Founded as a faith school, St Anne’s combines a rich history with modern facilities, including updated science labs and IT suites, to deliver a broad, ambitious curriculum.
In 2024 the school was judged ‘Good’ across all criteria by Ofsted. There have been significant improvements made across all aspects of the school. The published report stated that the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management are all good.

The academy’s focus on personal development, through extracurricular activities like sports and drama, builds resilience and leadership skills. Over the last few years, the school founded an American Flag Football team and quickly found success winning regional and national titles, later partnering with NFL team The Minnesota Vikings. In 2024, the school represented Great Britain in the World Flag Football Championship in America.
St Anne's is rapidly becoming a school of choice for the young people of Rochdale, with year on year improvement in all areas of school life, GCSE results and quality of education.
